Kids ages 10yrs-16yrs are invited to explore the world of animal care, training and husbandry here at Homemade Hounds!

Do you have an animal lover at home but you are not ready to buy, feed, create a pen for and care for goats everyday? Horses? No problem... we got you covered! Junior Handlers within our club get to work with all those... AND MORE! 

​

Whether it's learning to work with, train, groom and care for dogs or leading and feeding horses... there are life lessons in everything we do. Learning to work together with an animal (or each other), understanding responsibility, pride in work and so much more!

All Junior Handler Program participants must complete our 6 week Junior Handler Certification course before jumping into the club. This certification class is a fun way for kids to learn the basics of what is needed for the club!

What animals does your kid get to experience? Our resident goats, pigs, horses and dogs are all in and ready to help your kid explore the world of animal care and husbandry. With animals like rabbits, Dumbo rats, snakes and birds at our "ANIMAL FRIEND PARTNERS", your child gets a wide range of experiences. We even get visits from fluffy Highland cows every now and then! By changing from animal to animal, kids get to see how training and care techniques apply to different species! ​

Kids must be 10 years old at the time of the program to participate in the programs. There is limited space in this program so availability is first come, first served.

 

Tuition for the Junior Handler Certification Course is $150 for the 6 week class.

Tuition for the Junior Handler Monthly Program is $100 per child per month.

Monthly dues must be paid for the month in advanced for children to be included in that month's curriculum. 

Junior Handler Monthly Program is currently on Thursday from 5:30pm-6:30pm (times may change with winter weather)

6/25/2026- Summer Certification- Thursdays 4pm-5pm

9/17/26- Fall Certification- Thursdays 4pm-5pm
